What to bring to the hospital?

It is preferable to pack your suitcase in advance, to avoid forgetting anything when you leave your house. This list is subjective. You can add various articles if you think they will be necessary for your comfort. However, note that our hospital does not provide any items on this list, therefore they are all essential.

Baby

  • Newborn diapers (one pack)
  • Mild, unscented soap
  • 4-5 pyjamas
  • Bottles if you do not wish to breastfeed
  • Baby car seat (Make sure you have read the instruction manual beforehand, and understand how your
  • car seat works. Before you leave, a nurse will make sure your baby is safely fastened in the seat)
  • A going-home outfit
  • 4-5 onesies
  • 2 baby hats
  • 1-2 pairs of gloves and socks
  • 2-3 blankets
  • Nursing pillow


Mother

  • Health insurance card, hospital card, private insurance card (if you have one)
  • Sanitary pads - maternity, long and super-absorbent (minimum one pack)
  • Breastfeeding pads
  • Birth plan signed by your doctor (optional)
  • 2-3 pyjamas, nightgowns or comfortable clothes
  • 2-3 bras (normal or nursing bras)
  • Slippers and socks
  • Bathrobe (optional)
  • 4-6 pairs of underwear
  • Comfortable clothes
  • Toiletries (deodorant, soap, shampoo, hairbrush, hair dryer)
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Tissue box
  • Pillow (identify it with your name)
  • Glasses or contact lenses with case
  • Lip balm
  • Purelan or Lansinoh cream (if you plan on breastfeeding)

Partner

  • Camera
